I have lived in the beautiful Olympia area for most of my life. My love of music started in elementary school when the strings teacher visited classes to introduce these wonderful instruments. I originally wanted to try violin, but when I saw there was only one other cellist in the group, I thought, "Why not try that instead?" Taking on the cello ended up being a defining moment in my life!

I continued my studies through the local youth symphonies and, very importantly, through private instruction. After I graduated high school, I auditioned for and was selected to join both the Olympia Symphony and Olympia Chamber Orchestra.

A few years later, I moved to eastern Washington to pursue a degree in Dental Hygiene. After graduation, I returned to Olympia,  and immediately dove back into music and the musical community. I had missed it!

I have continued to play in the Olympia Chamber Orchestra, currently as principal cellist and am part of a wonderful string quartet called Cascada Chamber Players. I also occasionally play at weddings, church functions, and with other symphonic groups.

My passion for playing cello has developed into a love of teaching music, which is the foundation of Hello, Cello!
